Pumpkin Fest is a family event designed to get everyone together to unwind and catch up. If you can make it, I’d love to see you there if not, we’ll catch you at our Gingerbread Haus competition around Christmas.

What do I need?

A Pumpkin + Carving set

(if one is not available in your area you may build a halloween gingerbread haus)

Carving sets are usually sold alongside pumpkins.

Pumpkins are available at the following stores:

Wal mart

Publix

Target

Trader Joes

HEB

Whole Foods

Prizes

The Rules

How do I participate?

Sign up to become a Pumpkin Carver or Pumpkin Judge.

We ask that all participants empty/hollow out all pumpkins, prior to the competition.

On the day of the event, carving begins at 3:15p.m. All pumpkins entered into the contest must be submitted by 4:15 p.m. (max. 1 hour to carve). The contest will be held virtually and hosted by the Richardson Family. An invite link will be sent out via email the day prior to the event.

Carving Instructions:

Participants may use their own carving kits or stencils. Carving tools can be found at wal mart, target, and amazon. While commercial stencils may be used, handmade stencils or free hand carvings will earn more creativity points in the judging. Pumpkins may be painted or otherwise decorated. The carved pumpkins must be able to stand without any support or backdrop needed.

How do I submit my pumpkin? And How will it be judged?

Our selected judges will be placed into a group chat. Upon completion of carving, Pumpkin Carvers will submit a photo/video of their pumpkin to the judge’s group chat. Once all pumpkins are received a verdict will be reached.

Judges will be awarding three prizes in the following categories:

1) Spookiest Pumpkin

2) Cleanest Design

3) Most Unique Pumpkin
